ThunderCon is a Not-for-Profit organization run entirely by fans, for fans. We are not a corporation. We are not a big business or an expo. We are run 100% by volunteers, who love our community and are passionate about sharing our fandoms with others. As ThunderCon grows, so does our need for more help to make sure things continue to run smoothly.
ThunderCon is an inclusive and diverse space where volunteers from all backgrounds can come together, feel welcomed, and celebrate their shared passion for fandom and community.
We are looking for friendly and engaged volunteers to help with everything from guest registration to all-around fandom fun ambassadors. If you love anime, sci-fi, superheroes, or anything really, and you want to help by enthusiastically lending a hand and sharing your passions with others, we want to hear from you. We are looking for volunteers to fill several positions during both the ThunderCon weekend and year round!

Do I need to be a certain age to volunteer?
Yes, you must be at least 16 years of age or older (14 with a parent/guardian’s consent and attendance) to volunteer with ThunderCon.
You also must be legally eligible to work in Canada and in the Province of Ontario.
What Type of Jobs Are Volunteers Asked To Do?
There is never a shortage of jobs to be done at ThunderCon! Below are some examples of jobs you might be assigned to do on the event days.

Do Volunteers Get Any Perks?
Yep! Working a 5-hour shift gets you in for FREE that day. We also provide a free pizza lunch for our Volunteer Superheroes, because every superhero needs to refuel to get through a busy day!Â
Will ThunderCon Verify my volunteer hours?
Yes, of course! We are happy to verify your volunteer hours with us. For High School students, it’s a fun, supportive way to get your mandatory volunteer hours towards for graduation.
We are also happy to provide reference letters for our volunteers that are looking for confirmation of their participation for other reasons.
I want to help plan ThunderCon, How do i do that?
That’s a great question! An event like ThunderCon doesn’t come together without a dedicated team of volunteers in different roles working year-round to bring ThunderCon to life.
